Chinese Bhasad is a Voot original drama directed by Saurabh Tewari. It is written and co-directed by Rahil Qaazi. It is a 7 episode series ranging from 17 to 26 minutes. The plot of the story has Raghuram Dixit(Raghu), played by Naveen Polishetty who loves a Chinese girl named Ming Seah, played by Monsoon Boruah. The elemental fact of the story is that Raghu's maternal granfather(Nanaji) who fought Indo-China war of 1962, Col. Badrinarayan Bhardwaj played by Chandra Khanna is totally against China, be it Chinese products or people and anytime willing to kick every Chinese ass. It is a quest of Raghu and Ming to get married in India according to Indian rituals and traditions. Raghu who works in Singapore comes to India with her prospective wife Ming to introduce her to his family and to marry her. When his family get to know about Ming, it freaks out from the idea of having a Chinese daughter-in-law. This meeting happened behind the back of Nanaji and the fact that he was soon going to have a prospective Chinese Granddaughter-in-law was kept as a secret. A chunk of the content is jokes on Indian stereotypes about the Chinese. Wedding is planned with a heap of lies told to Nanaji that starts from Ming is not Chinese and going with multiple other lies to save the earlier lie. Later a Chinese Indian knowing about the distress of the family enters the drama to take advantage of it. The transition of events in the show is at a very unusually high speed, a lot is tried to be presented in a very little screen time. Acting of all the cast membrs is fine. Screenplay is not very interesting. May be all the events happening in the show are not innovative but story is definitely unorthodox. It is to be given 6 WVM points.
